A guide on writing the perfect thank you
After an interview, it is very important that you send a follow-up thank you email or hand-written note. It’s a great way to show your appreciation and reiterate your interest in the position and highlight your communication skills.
While the task seems small, the recruiter or manager that has interviewed you will read it. It shows you have a continued interest in the position and keeps you on the interviewer’s radar. If you interviewed with more than one person, take the time to send them each a personalized note. Address a specific topic you discussed with them in this space and show interest in their position. A best practice when interviewing in person is to ask for a business card from each person. This ensures that you have the correct spelling and contact information when sending your thank you letters. Remember, this is not like your cover letter so keep it short, sweet, and to the point. All thank you letters should be sent within 24 hours of your interview. No excuses!
